Cool, green and wonderful

Today was one of our better rides in several years.

The day started with the obligatory pig sacrifice.  We departed Missoula under grey clouds with rain in the forecast.

A short interstate west ride took us to Saint Regis, Montana.  We then spent the day riding northwest on Idaho Highway 135 and Highway 200.

Our route followed the Clark Fork River and took us through the Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai, and Lolo National Forests.  The forests were verdant and green, unlike the parched and brown forests of southern Idaho.

We rode past a large herd of mountain goats who decided dinner by the side of the road might be good.  Bill is posting that photo.

It never did rain, although we rode through light mist and drizzle for a couple of hours. The temperatures ranged from 68 to 85. All in all, a nice day to ride.

We must give a shout out to Odie's Big Sky Cafe in Troy, Montana.  A great local place that is, by the way, for sale.  If you are interested is slowing down a bit we can set you up with the owner.

We overnighted in Libby, Montana.

Tomorrow we ride a 185 mile loop around Lake Koocanusa.

Admit it, you like our breakfast porn pictures.

Bill carries much less stuff than he once did.
